Growing Up In Illinois

Born and raised in Illinois, Joshua considers Illinois a quintessential part of his identity. As a boy, Joshua would enjoy playing in the loft of the barn, mudding on dirtbikes after a fresh rain, and hiking Giant City State Park. Growing up in Illinois, unfortunately, means Joshua has also seen the incompetent and corrupt politics of Illinois, such as George Ryan and Rod Blagojevich. Early on in life, Joshua Loyd vowed that if he were to ever gain a position of influence, he would not succumb to the immoral and corrupt influence of modern politics. He lives by the West Point Creed to "never lie, cheat, steal, or tolerate those who do."

Military Appreciation

Throughout the years, Joshua Loyd has witnessed the sacrifices that service members and their families go through in order to ensure unwavering freedom for the American public. As the son of two career military officers, a former soldier, and West Point Graduate himself, Joshua Loyd has had a deeply found appreciation for the military since his childhood. Additionally, Joshua Loyd served on the Military Funeral Honor detail ensuring that the soldiers, of whom the funerals were intended for, received the services they deserved as they were laid to rest. Joshua Loyd witnessed the final role call of those soldiers who paid the ultimate sacrifice for our nation. He carries with him those moments and understands the sincerity of selfless service.
